Description of Job Duties:

  • Strategic Planning and Leadership
    • Develop and implement the college's IT strategic plan to align with the institution's overall goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership and direction for the IT department, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of technology services.
    • Collaborate with college leadership to identify, prioritize, and address the institution's technology needs.
  • Technology Management and Support
    • Oversee the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the college's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
    • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the college's technology resources.
    • Coordinate and supervise the work of IT staff to provide responsive and effective technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Project Management and Implementation
    • Manage the planning, execution, and evaluation of IT projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
    • Facilitate the implementation of new technologies and the integration of existing systems to enhance institutional operations.
    • Develop and maintain project management processes, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Budget and Resource Management
    • Develop and manage the IT department's annual budget, allocating resources effectively to support the college's technology needs.
    • Oversee the procurement and procurement of IT equipment, software, and services.
  • Governance and Compliance
    • Develop and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the college's technology environment is aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Collaborate with college stakeholders to establish IT governance structures and processes.
    • Ensure the college's technology systems and data are secure and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Management
    • Serve as a liaison between the IT department and other college departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external technology vendors, service providers, and industry partners.
    • Represent the college's IT interests in campus-wide committees and initiatives.

Experience and Other Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in IT, preferably in an educational or similar institutional setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading IT teams and managing technology projects.
  • Experience in strategic planning, budget management, and resource allocation for IT departments.
  • Extensive knowledge of information technology systems, including hardware, software, networking, and enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in IT service management, project management, and data security best practices.
  • Experience with cloud computing, virtualization,, and emerging technologies.
