Former Eagle named VBL D-Bat Player of the Week

Former ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Eagle Baseball player Matt Durst is having a great summer in the Valley Baseball League. Playing for the Charles Town Cannons, Durst was named D-Bat Player of the Week on Monday, June 17. According to a ,†Durst played in six games that week and recorded at least one hit in five of them. He finished the week batting .409 (9-for-22) with two double, a triple and a home run. The rising junior at Southern Mississippi added eight RBIs, four runs, a sacrifice fly and a stolen base. In the Cannons final game of the week, Durst finished 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.

Durst, of Whitehouse, was an all-conference player for ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ who hit .340. He was part of the conference champion team in 2012. The junior is slated to play at the University of Southern Mississippi for the 2013-2014 season.
