The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ art department is currently hosting an art exhibit by stone sculptor Stacy Deslatte of Longview. The display, which runs through March 7, is featured in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ campus. The exhibit is open free to the public during regular business hours. Deslatte (left) is pictured above with Dr. Kim Wommack, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Professor of Art and Division Director for Creative and Performing Arts in front of "Royal Demeanor," one of the sculptures on display. Deslatte, a former chemical engineer, employs direct sculpture methods in her work. She works primarily with alabaster and limestone to create organic, abstract, and figurative pieces.
