Eagles baseball splits with Paris

Thanks to a strong sixth inning in Saturday's first game, the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Eagles (ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ) baseball team pulled out a 9-5 win over Paris Junior College before dropping the second game 3-2, bringing the Eagles to 17-10 overall with 12 games remaining in the regular season.

The Eagles scored on a two-run double by Christian Padin, bringing home Carlos Roman and Tristan Graham. Graham racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Eagles. He homered in the second inning.

Paris couldn't get anything going so long as Oscar Meuris was on the hill. Meuris held Paris hitless over 3 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two. Brandon Colbert recorded the win for the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Eagles even though he allowed five runs over 5 1/3 innings. Colbert struck out one, walked three and gave up five hits.

The Eagles lost 3-2 in seven innings at Paris on Saturday, despite out-hitting Paris eight to six. The Eagles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Connor Hall singled to start things off before Johnnuelle Ponce doubled, scoring Hall.Ponce had two extra-base hits for the Eagles. Dalton Algiene pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits.
