The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Adult Education Department has partnered with Pittsburg ISD to make English as a Second Language (ESL) education more accessible to area residents. Classes are held at Pittsburg Primary School and Pittsburg High School. These free classes are open to the community and new students are still being accepted.

?This new program shows the power of community partnerships, at best!† Pittsburg ISD is providing classroom space and recruitment for the ESL parent class, Pittsburg Head Start is providing parent recruitment and ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Adult Education is providing ESL class coordination and the instructor. Currently, there are 19 parents enrolled for the spring semester. PISD Superintendent, Judy Pollan, was in support of the program and has encouraged parent participation,? Sue Barker, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Director of Adult Education, said.

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Adult Education also offers free GED classes at the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg. Please call Ruth Fernando at 903-434-8252 for more information about ESL and GED classes.†Follow us on Facebook at Adult Education Program at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.
