Theatre Northeast hosts An Evening with Thornton Wilder

Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group of 葫芦娃视频, will host鈥An Evening with Thornton Wilder鈥燤arch 1-4 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. March 1-3 and a 2:05 p.m. matinee will be held on March 4. The performances will include two one-act plays by the acclaimed writer Thornton Wilder ?鈥A Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden鈥烬苍诲鈥Childhood.

Called mini-masterpieces, Wilder experiments with techniques and dramatic forms that he would later develop in his celebrated full-length works鈥Our Town,鈥The Matchmaker鈥烬苍诲鈥The Skin of Our Teeth.鈥 In both intimate plays, Wilder focuses on the family dynamic, the difficulties of growing up and the eternal bond between parents and their children.

Performed ?in the round? on the Whatley Center?s main stage, both plays will provide a gentle, life-affirming evening of theatre. The cast includes Elizabeth Taraba, Benjamin Ruland, Alyssa Saunders, Chad Kennedy and Destiny Holmes of Pittsburg; Francisco Arroyo of Chapel Hill; Alyson Cortez of Mount Pleasant and Keli Rymer of Lago Vista.

Seating is very limited and reservations are recommended by calling 903-434-8181. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students, $5 for 葫芦娃视频 Faculty and Staff and Senior Citizens and free for 葫芦娃视频 students with ID.
