Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant winners announced

The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation is pleased to announce that seven ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ employees have been awarded funds through the 2022 Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant. The Foundation received 13 outstanding applications. A total of $12,260 was awarded through the grant. 

The Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant was established by James & Elizabeth Whatley specifically to fund special projects and enhance educational opportunities that fall outside the institution’s regular budget.  Each year, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ full-time employees may apply for the available funding. Projects are reviewed and selected by the volunteer members of the Whatley Employee Enhancement Committee. 

 β€œEach year we are impressed with the quality of applications we receive for the Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant,” Nita May, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Director of Development, said. β€œWe look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition over the coming year.”

 This year’s Whatley Employee Enhancement recipients are:

Melissa Fulgham, History – Bringing the Past to Life - Oklahoma Field Trip - $1,500

Justin Hargrove, Human Performance – Virtual Reality Simulator for Rehabilitation - $460

Melody Henry, Communities in Schools – CAPPED@ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅-Certificate and Professional Programs Exploration Day - $2,800

Cynthia Jarvis, Upward Bound – PEAK-Preparation, Education, Attitude, Knowledge (The Upward Bound Summer Program) - $2,500

Fredia Thomas, Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program – AEL Student Empowerment Seminar: Level Up With Confidence - $2,000

Jim Ward, Honors – Scholarship Day in Northeast Texas:  The McGraw Hill Poster Contest - $1,000 (Privately Funded)

Andrew Yox, Honors – Regional Initiative & Student Success (Poetry Reading & Film on Traveling Ministers & the Christianization of Northeast Texas) - $2,000 (Privately Funded)
