The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation finished East Texas Giving Day at the top of the leaderboard for the second year in a row this Tuesday. ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ raised a whopping $244,730 via the annual fundraising event that has become a regional tradition.
In addition to raising the most money, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ also finished with the highest number of donations at 208. Nita May, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Director of Development and event organizer, said that these numbers reflect the enthusiasm and effort put forth by ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ employees, students and community members.
βOur employees and student organizations got involved in East Texas Giving Day early on and we ended up having the highest amount of money raised through individual celebration pages. Our students and employees are passionate about ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ and that really shined through in their fundraising efforts,β May said.
East Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online event that provides critical funding for our area nonprofits. East Texas Communities Foundation partners with area nonprofits to give donors across East Texas a chance to raise funds for local needs. The purpose of an area-wide Giving Day is to bring the region together on one day and as one community, raising money and awareness for East Texas nonprofits. This initiative, organized by East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF), provides citizens across ETCF's 32-county service area an easy platform to support the mission of local nonprofits that serve our communities.
βWe are so thankful for the East Texas Communities Foundation for hosting this wonderful event. It has become our primary annual fundraiser and a source of fun and excitement on campus,β May said.
From scholarships to livestock feed for the college farm, each dollar raised will go directly to support important causes at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.
