Pictured: Carroll Shelby, who would have been 100 on January 11th, visited with ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ automotive students in 2009. The Shelby Foundation continues to honor Shelby's commitment to local students by supporting the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Automotive Program. Current students in the Shelby Program held a Chili Cook-off in his memory on his birthday.

The Carroll Shelby Student Auto Club would like to thank everyone who attended the Chili Cook-off to celebrate Carroll Shelby's 100th birthday on January 11th, 2023. A special thank you to those who provided the delicious chili: Rhett McCullough, Titus Regional Medical Center and the Chili Appreciation Society International.  A shout out to the local businesses who donated items for the event: LalaPop’s, Hershel’s, Mt Pleasant Tire, O’Reilly’s, and ABC Auto Parts of Mt Pleasant and Pittsburg.  Kudos to the chili judges for risking their taste buds: Mayor Abernathy, Judge AJ Mason and Kaymon Farmer.  And a tip of the hat to Chef Reeves for the use of the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Culinary School.
