Choctaw Nation visits ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ to share tribal stories through social dances

On Monday October 7, at 12:30 the Choctaw Nation’s Cultural Outreach program will be coming to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ campus. Tribal members will share stories and the dances that tell those stories in the Whatley’s large foyer. Some of those dances will be interactive, and the entire presentation is sure to be engaging and entertaining.

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣơ’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter will be hosting the performers as part of their exploration of regional folklore and stories. The event is free to attend and the public is welcome.

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ adds new assistant soccer coaches

Abbie Rutledge and Dillon Williams joined Coach Jon Evan's staff at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ in August of 2024. 

Rutledge came to Mount Pleasant after serving as a student assistant at her Alma Mater LSUS in the spring of 2024 as well as a club role coaching with CABOSA. Rutledge will serve as assistant to both the men's and women's programs and will play a significant role in strength and conditioning and will be involved in all aspects of both teams.

Cypress Bank donates laptop for Honors student

For the seventeenth-straight year in a row, Cypress Bank has presented a high-end laptop for the use of ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ honors students.  This year’s Cypress Bank Scholar is Yahir Garcia, who is also serving as the producer of the program’s yearly film project. Garcia is a computer-science major.
