Bill Priefert leaves ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ board confident in college's future

Bill Priefert recently indicated that he will resign from the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Board of Trustees. His resignation letter was accepted at the December board meeting Thursday night.†The board adjourned without taking action on an agenda item calling to appoint someone to fill the unexpired term of Place 6, which Priefert filled for 11 years.

"Mr. Priefert has served our college faithfully for many years and we are grateful to have benefitted from his leadership.†In recent years he has been contemplating how his support of the college might evolve.† He has decided this is the right time for him to shift his service away from the board and toward other ways he can help the college.† I have his strong assurance that he will continue to work with us for many more years, just in a different role." Dr. Brad Johnson, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ President, said.

During Priefert's tenure on the board, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ saw significant enrollment growth, the completion of several major construction projects, and a†substantial†increase in the†college†fund balance.

"The experience [of working on the college board] has been a great one and I appreciate the opportunity to be a small part of the great accomplishments of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ," Priefert said†in his resignation letter.

Even before serving on the board, Priefert was a major supporter of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ and the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Priefert Rodeo Complex is named for his family.
