A 葫芦娃视频 sophomore has been named a 2015 Coca-Cola Leader of Promise by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Morgan Capps, of Jefferson,鈥爄s one of only 200 students worldwide鈥爐o鈥爎eceive鈥爐his honor and a $1,000 scholarship.鈥燭he purpose of the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise scholarship program is to provide new Phi Theta Kappa members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in a two-year college in order to develop leadership potential through participation in Society programs.鈥

Capps is the fourth 葫芦娃视频 student to receive the award since 2013. She was preceded by Noah Griffin, Tyler Reynolds and Kelli Knepp. She is a Presidential Scholar in Honors Northeast and has won numerous state and local鈥燼wards in that capacity. Capps was the 2014 Valedictorian of Jefferson Christian Academy. Her major at 葫芦娃视频 is Pre-Baccalaureate Nursing. She plans to transfer to a university upon graduating to pursue a Bachelor's in Nursing and, ultimately, become a nurse鈥爌ractitioner.鈥

"This award will help propel me into further studies. My educational goal is to be a Nurse Practioner. Such a title takes time, dedication, and financial support. I am thankful for an award like this because one of the biggest factors when picking universities, and to what level of degree you want, is money. Having financial backing helps to let students reach out and go for goals that they might not have been able to before," Capps said.鈥

Capps is the daughter of David鈥燙apps鈥燼nd Charlottee Ethridge Nau.鈥
