ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ and Texas A&M University-Texarkana officials signed a dual admissions agreement today at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅, formalizing a partnership benefitting students who wish to attain baccalaureate degrees. Officials also signed a financial aid consortium allowing ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ and A&M-Texarkana students to be concurrently enrolled without disruption to their financial aid award.

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ President Dr. Brad Johnson said, ?The agreement and cooperative plans established today create seamless transitions and pathways for students who want more than associate degrees. Students will find that transferring courses between our institutions will be an easier process than ever before.?

The dual admissions agreement contains cooperative degree plans and 2+2 articulation agreements for various programs and disciplines that allow students to complete two years of coursework at each institution. Officials say the agreement was designed to encourage students to complete an entire associate degree at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ before transferring to A&M-Texarkana.

?The primary goal of these initiatives is to provide a clear pathway to an A&M-Texarkana baccalaureate degree for all ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ students,? said A&M-Texarkana Provost Dr. Rosanne Stripling. ?In doing so, our expectation is that students will avoid taking courses that do not apply to their desired degrees, thereby reducing their time to a degree as well as their financial investment.

The management of the dual admissions agreement between the two institutions will be coordinated through both ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅?s and A&M-Texarkana?s registrar offices. The agreement establishes the terms and responsibility of each institution?s role in recruitment and admissions, tuition and fees, student advising, management of student records, and student grievances and conduct.

?From the A&M-Texarkana perspective, this is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ for the benefit of students and the region,? said A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Emily Cutrer. ?This type of partnership ensures that our students have a clear path to achieve their higher education goals.?
