The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Agriculture Department will host the Northeast Texas Ag-Stravaganza June 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Ag Complex. The event, sponsored by ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, Creative Insight Community Development and the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, will introduce two new agriculture initiatives coming to Northeast Texas.
Guests will learn about Texas Golden Kiwis and how this and other new hybrid crops are changing the agricultural landscape ? and how they can work on local farms. They will also learn about a proposed Northeast Texas Food Hub Cooperative that would benefit local farmers and boost the regional economy.
Participants are encouraged to bring seeds and/or plants to swap with fellow growers. Admission is free with donations accepted for an included brunch that will be provided by the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Ag Club. To learn more, contact Rene? McCracken at 903-434-8267 or rmccracken@ntcc.edu.
