Area community banks have partnered with ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ to offer graduating high school seniors a buy-one-get-one-free class during ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣơ’s summer term. Any 2020 high school graduate is eligible for the exclusive offer, regardless of where they live.

from Dr. Clinton about this exciting opportunity!

β€œWe realize that this has been a very challenging year for the graduating high school class and we wanted to find a way to do something special to help them get a head start on their educational goals,” Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Executive Vice President for Advancement, said. β€œThanks to the generosity of six community banking institutions, we were able to make this a reality.”

American National Bank of Mount Pleasant, Guaranty Bank and Trust, North East Texas Credit Union, Pilgrim Bank, Texas Heritage National Bank and Herring Bank all sponsored the initiative.

β€œRegardless of where a senior is headed after they graduate, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ is still here for them. While we hope to see many of these seniors on our campus as freshmen next year, those who are headed to universities can still take advantage of ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣơ’s classes online during summer and between terms. It can save you thousands of dollars over four years,” McCullough said.

In order to receive the scholarship, students must meet several criteria, including applying for ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅, completing a 2019-2020 FAFSA or TAFSA application, completing the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ BOGO application and enrolling in (and paying for) at least one course this summer. Any eligible financial aid will be applied first and then the BOGO scholarship will pay for any remaining balance on the second class.

β€œIt is important for graduates to apply for summer financial aid first, because it will often give them the most money. We want to make sure that students are getting the very best deal they can,” McCullough said.
