The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce that it will host a special performance by country and western artist Joni Harms on Monday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students.
±α²Ή°ω³Ύ²υβ&²Τ²ϊ²υ±θ;Lucky 13 (2018) received Album of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists and she continues to rack up major awards in the world of country and western music.
βWe were very excited to add Joni Harms to our spring lineup,β Carolyn Franks, Whatley Center Director, said. βShe is a popular voice in country and western music with a strong local following.β
Harmsβ signature cowboy hat and boots are indeed more than a fashion statement. She lives on a farm in Oregon that was homesteaded by her great, great grandfather Harms in 1872.
Harms has built a career on two-stepping, toe-tapping shuffles and swing songs on her CDs. She loves to write about rodeo, cowboys and the ranch way of living, but says her favorite kind of songs to write are ballads or story songs.
She has earned multiple honors from such notable organizations as the Western Music Association and the Academy of Western Artists. Harms has also performed on some of the most famous stages, including the Grand Ole Opry and New York Cityβs Carnegie Hall.
