Eagles Softball welcomes new assistant coach to the nest

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Athletics would like to welcome Taniece Tyson to the staff.

Taniece will join Head Coach Haley Colwell as part of the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Eagles Softball program. Coach Tyson started her collegiate career at McNeese State University from 2019-2021. While at McNeese she played in 14 games and made five starts as a Cowgirl. 

Taniece then transferred to San Jacinto College, earning an Associate’s degree in Business Administration in 2021-2022, while also competing in Region 14. Tyson earned Second-Team All American, First-Team All- Region, Academic Scholar Athlete, and helped her team in their bid to Nationals. 

Coach Tyson earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. There Tyson saw action in 42 games and made 38 starts with a .293 batting average and a .338 on-base percentage for the Islanders. She was named SLC hitter of the week on March 11, 2024, after going 7- for-10 at the plate during a three-game sweep over A&M- Commerce.

Coach Tyson will be working primarily working with infielders while assisting Coach Colwell.
