Ron Clinton to perform solo piano recital at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅
Dr. Ron Clinton, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a solo piano recital on Sunday, Sept. 15 atβ 2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.β Tickets to the concerts are $10 for adults and $5 for children and ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ students.
The concert will feature selections by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin,β Gershwin,β and Liszt.
"Dr. Clinton is a phenomenal pianist and we are thrilled to host his concert at the Whatley Center.
Mack and Nelda Taylor give to Whatley Campaign
Mack and Nelda Taylor of Mount Pleasant (pictured left) recently presented a $500 donation to the Campaign for the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Receiving the gift on behalf of the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation (right) are Nita May, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Vice President for Advancement. The gift was matched through Merck, the company from which Mrs. Taylor is retired. Theatre Northeast to present Inherit the Wind
Theatre Northeast is proud to present the ?classic courtroom drama,"β Inherit the Wind, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅. Performances will run April 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and April 28 at 2:05 p.m.

Hoppock named Alumni Ambassador by Texas A&M-Commerce
ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Professor of Theatre and Speech, Douglas Hoppock, was recently named an Alumni Ambassador by Texas A&M University-Commerce for the 2013 Alumni Ambassador Forum.
Each year, departments at A&M-Commerce choose former students return to campus for this event. It is the highest honor a department can bestow upon its alumni. Hoppock received his MA degree from the university in 1974, where he majored in theatre and minored in speech.

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ will host the La Catrina Quartet for a concert at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts onβ Thursday, March 7. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
Theater Northeast to perform The Nerd
Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅, is setβ present the ?side-splitting comedy? by Larry Shue,β The Nerd.β The show will be performed in the onstage theatre at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts and runs February 28, March 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a matinee on March 3 at 2:05 p.m.
