Michelle Calderon Receives Graham Leadership and Ethics Scholarship

Michelle Calderon, a student at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in Texas, has received the Gordon Graham Leadership and Ethics in Criminal Justice Scholarship of $1,250 from the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute (IPSLEI) and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

This scholarship is awarded to only one Phi Theta Kappa member nationwide who is enrolled in an associate degree program in a criminal justice field at a regionally accredited college.

Student art exhibit on display through April 30th

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Art Department will hold its annual student art show from Thursday, April 4th through Tuesday, April 30th in the foyer gallery of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibit will feature student artworks in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, and digital media.  A reception will be held Wednesday, April 10th in the Whatley Center foyer at 12:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come, meet our amazing students, and enjoy the exhibit.

MLT Program extends application deadline

Do you like science, enjoy working independently and want to help people? If so, the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program might be a good fit for you.  

Medical laboratory technicians (MLT) are vital healthcare detectives who perform a wide variety of tests to analyze blood and other body fluids, providing information to physicians that assists in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest planned for May

Skylar Fondren, shown here in 2022 was one of three students in ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ History to win both a Britt Award for a poster presentation at the Great Plains Honors Council, and a $400 Award for ranking first in an ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ McGraw Hill Poster Contest. Fondren leveraged attainments like these for a Coca Cola Gold Award on the national level in 2023.

Board names Dr. Paula Wilhite Distinguished Faculty Emeritus at March meeting

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Board of Trustees met for its regular March meeting on Tuesday, March 26th. The meeting started off with a special presentation as the board approved naming Dr. Paula Wilhite as Distinguished Professor Emeritus. Board Chairman Chuck Johns read the proclamation and Dr. Ron Clinton, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ President, presented Wilhite with a special medallion to commemorate the honor.
