Members of the ��«����Ƶ Alpha Mu Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa spent time spreading good cheer over the holiday break. A group of members went Christmas Caroling door-to-door on December 23. ��«����Ƶ Professor Dr. Paula Wilhite was among the Mount Pleasant residents who received a surprise serenade. She commented in a recent Facebook post: "The best of the best! Thanks for the wonderful music..."

This was one of many community service projects that Alpha Mu Chi conducts throughout the year.

At a special called meeting Thursday, the ��«����Ƶ Board of Trustees appointed Robin Sharp to fill the unexpired term of the place six board seat recently vacated by Bill Priefert. Sharp will be sworn in at the next regular board meeting in January.

Sharp is Executive Vice President at Guaranty Bond Bank. He has 29 years experience in banking. Sharp earned his bachelorπs degree from Texas Tech University, attended the American British College in Barcelona, Spain, and continued his education at Southwestern Graduate School of Banking.

Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas (CIS), in collaboration with Brookshire?s and Super 1 Foods, coordinated the Spirit of Christmas Food Drive again this year.††This is the 15^th†year that CIS has collected and distributed food to families during the holiday season.

Dr. Brad Johnson (right), President of ��«����Ƶ, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Vice President for Advancement, are pictured holding a $25,000 check the ��«����Ƶ Foundation recently received from the Carroll Shelby Foundation.† The money will provide scholarships for students in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology Program at ��«����Ƶ. Mr. Shelby was a strong supporter of the automotive technology program at ��«����Ƶ and, through carefully planned estate giving, he continues to help both the college, and more importantly, †the citizens of our community.
