Meningitis Vaccine Requirement

 

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination RequirementDuring the last Texas legislative session, Texas Senate Bill 1107 (SB 1107) was passed and signed into law by Texas State Governor Rick Perry. Effective January 1, 2012, SB 1107 requires all students (under age 30) entering an institution of higher education (public and private) to either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet certain criteria for declining such a vaccination before the first day of the semester.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ parking permits to be enforced

For the safety and security of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, all students, faculty and staff are required to display a parking permit on their vehicle while on campus. Security officers will enforce this by issuing warnings beginning September 4. Citations with fines will follow the warning period.

Parking permits are FREE. Student permits are issued in the Student Services building and employees can pick them up from the Human Resources department.

Lilly Haack wins $5,000 Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ student Lilly Haack is one of ten students nationwide selected to receive the 2018 Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education, a $5,000 award.

The Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education is awarded to Phi Theta Kappa members who are civically engaged in their community through service and who demonstrate leadership, academic rigor, and excellence. Preference is given to first-generation college students. Nearly 800 applications were received.
