Glenn and Judy Weiss give matched gift for ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Morris County scholarships

Glenn and Judy Weiss of Daingerfield recently gave $750 to fund scholarships for Morris County students at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅. The gift was matched by the Chevron Corporation, the company Glenn retired from, to make a total scholarship of $1,500. Carol Hodges supports ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Work Scholarship Program

Carol Hodges, owner of The Design Factory in Hughes Springs, recently gave a $500 gift to the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Work Scholarship Program in memory of her late husband Bruce Hodges.

The Work Scholarship Program wrapped up its third summer this week, with around 40 students participating. The program gives hard-working students the opportunity to earn money to pay for their education at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.

TRMC Auxiliary gives six ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ scholarships

The Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Auxiliary recently presented the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation with $4,500, which will provide six $750 scholarships to benefit students at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ majoring in a health sciences field. ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Business Technology Building to be named after Bart Scharlach

The board of the Bart Scharlach Memorial Foundation (BSMF) recently voted to move the management of the fund?s assets to the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation. In doing so, the gift reached the established level to rename both the Business Technology (BT) Building and the Whatley Center Auditorium on the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ campus.

The BT Building is now named the Bart Scharlach Business Technology Building, and the Whatley Center Auditorium is the Scharlach Auditorium.

Perryman gives to ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Work Scholarship Program

The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation recently received a $1,500 gift from Richard Perryman to support the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Work Scholarship Program. The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Work Scholarship Program gives students the opportunity to work during the summer to earn funds to pay for college for the upcoming year. The goal of the program is to foster a strong work ethic while allowing students to avoid student debt.

Texas Heritage National Bank recently gave $4,000 to the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation. The funds will be used to sponsor a Presidential Scholar in Honors Northeast, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅?s nationally-recognized honors program. ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ names library for Charlie and Helen Hampton

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ recently announced that its library has been renamed the Charlie and Helen Hampton Learning Resource Center (LRC). The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the new building name in their April board meeting. This is the first name change in a recently-launched fundraising/naming campaign by the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation. The naming campaign comes as the campus interior undergoes a major transformation.

Helen Hampton and her late husband, Charlie, of Naples, are longtime friends of ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.
