Foundation accepting applications for transfer scholarship

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation is now accepting applications for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship fund provides five awards of $1,000 each for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students transferring to a four-year university. Those†who meet the criteria below should plan to apply by April 14 in order to be considered for this scholarship:

  • Are you graduating from ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in spring (2017)?

  • \t

  • Are you a Camp, Morris, or Titus County resident?

  • \t

  • Do you have a minimum GPA of 3.0

  • \t

Sondra Fowler gives matched ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ scholarship

Sondra Fowler recently gave a $2,000 gift to the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation. She is pictured (left) presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Vice President for Advancement. Because she is a retired employee of ConocoPhillips, she qualifies for a matching gift program that is offered by the corporation.†The gift will be matched with an additional $2,000, bringing her total scholarship contribution to $4,000. The donation will provide scholarships for the Alfred and Ethel Fowler Morris County Scholarship fund.

ALAS of Texas gives $7,500 for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ scholarships

Amigos Latinos Al Servicios (ALAS) of Texas recently presented a check for $7,500 to the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation. The funds were raised at the second annual Cinco de Mayo on the Square event that was held in Mount Pleasant this year and will provide scholarships for local students attending ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. ALAS is a volunteer group of Latino professionals in Titus County with a vision to empower, promote, advocate and help identify the needs of the growing Hispanic community in Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas. Texas Pioneer Foundation gives $35,000 to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Work Scholarship Program

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation recently received a $35,000 gift from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. Fred Markham (left), Executive Director of the Texas Pioneer Foundation, is pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Vice President for Advancement. The funds will be used to support the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Work Scholarship Program. The Texas Pioneer Foundation is a private foundation that supports programs that will improve the quality and results of education for all Texas students.

Helen Hampton sponsors The Hunts concert

Helen Hampton recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming performance of The Hunts at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The Hunts will perform on the Whatley Stage November 12 at 7:30 p.m. The family of seven brothers and sisters combine their vocal and instrumental talents to create a fresh, distinctive indie folk sound.

Donation supports ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ scholarship for caregivers

The Winnsboro Community Foundation recently gave $2,000 for the Band of Angels Memorial Scholarship for Caregiving at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. The scholarship, which was created in memory of Bobbie Craddock, will support nontraditional students training in healthcare-related fields. Sue Hamm, Craddock?s daughter, got the idea for the scholarship during the last months of her mother?s life as she saw the tireless, selfless work of the caregivers who took care of Mrs. Craddock.
