Softball splits against Bossier, Kilgore

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Eagles (ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ) softball team†split two against Bossier Parish and Kilgore College†over the weekend and†dropped a doubleheader against Trinity Valley Community College on Wednesday.

Trinity Valley put the first one on the board during Wednesdays first game, the Eagles scored their first run during the fourth and Trinity Valley put three on the board during the fifth. The Eagles answered with four runs in the fifth, two off of a double by Kelsey Moulder and two off of a home run by Alizabeth Autrey.

Baseball drops three games to Angelina

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Eagles (ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ) baseball team dropped a three-game series to the Angelina College Roadrunners over the weekend.

Zach Osborne led the Eagles during the Saturday game and allowed the Roadrunners only one run in the sixth. The Eagles were unable to put any runs on the board and finished the game with a 1-0 defeat after nine innings.

Sunday's first game started with the Roadrunners taking an early lead in the third with two runs, the Eagles regained ground in the sixth when Jason Jones hit a homerun and scored along with Casey Dickerman.

PTA program graduates earn 100% pass rate on licensure exam



The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at Northeast Texas Community†College recently learned that its graduating class of†2013†had a 100% pass rate on the†first attempt for its state licensure exams. According to program director Dr. Nancy Wilson, this is the sixth†year in a row that the program has had all†students pass on the first try.




?Our past and present graduates have been very successful with passing the state licensure exam; most finding employment prior to graduating,? Wilson said.

Two ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Honors students win Caldwell essay awards

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Honors students, Elyse Coleman of Gilmer and Kayleah Cumpian of Mount Pleasant, swept two of the four 2014 Caldwell essay awards given annually by the Webb division of the Texas State Historical Association (for freshmen and sophomores in the colleges and universities of Texas).

Both wrote papers that were also deemed the two 2014 Boe nominees for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ by the Honors Committee, consisting of professors Joy Cooper, Robert Fenton, and David Rangel.† Each year the college submits two of its best 15-20 page essays by students to the Great Plains Honors
