The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Rodeo team will make the trip down to Athens, Texas May 7th and May 8th to close out the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region season. Trinity Valley Community College will serve as the host for the event that was originally scheduled for February when the winter storm hit.

Andrea Reyes, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣơ’s Title V Coordinator of Phi Theta Kappa, and Honors has recently received national recognition from two separate honors organizations, the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), and Phi Theta Kappa. This month, the NCHC announced twelve Awards for Administrative Excellence, and Reyes was one of three recipients from community colleges in the nation to receive this recognition.  Reyes also recently won a Paragon Award for new advisors in Phi Theta Kappa, as reported two weeks ago in β€œWhat’s Happening at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.”  In this, she again joined a select circle of twenty, nationally.

The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Adult Education and Literacy program will hold its General Education Development (GED) commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 7 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

Frankie and Henrietta King recently presented the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation with a check for $600. The gift provides a scholarship for a Work4College student.

The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Business Club is selling raffle tickets for a beautiful, patriotic wreath (pictured). Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Proceeds will help fund various community projects and scholarships. The wreath is on display in the BT Building.

Jim Archer is pictured (left) presenting the gift to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Executive Vice President for Advancement. The donation was made through East Texas Giving Day in order to take advantage of available matching opportunities.
