The pandemic had a way of delaying initiatives. But the 2020 issue of Touchstone, one of the most venerable undergraduate journals in the United States, finally has appeared in April, 2021. Published by the Texas State Historical Association, Touchstone has appeared continuously since 1982 in real form, and since the 1990s on high-quality cotton-stock paper, designed to last.
In addition to the Britt poster winners, Aaliyah Avellaneda, and Maritza Quinones highlighted last week in βWhatβs Happening at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅,β the college managed one of the more robust showings at the spring meeting of the 2021 Great Plains Honors Council. The conference, hosted virtually by the Redwine Honors Program at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, featured qualifying students from universities and colleges in the area from Nebraska and Missouri down to Texas. ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ had fourteen students qualify in the collegeβs fourteenth year of participation, a record for the college.

Aaron Shelby and the Carroll Shelby Foundation recently presented the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Foundation with checks totaling $80,000 to support ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅βs Shelby Automotive Technology program. One gift for $50,000 will provide scholarships for students in the Shelby program and $30,000 will be used toward the Shelby Restoration Center being built at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅.
