ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ is asking area residents and businesses to join them in celebration of GenTX Day on Friday, May 2. To participate, all Texans are encouraged to wear their favorite college t-shirt on May 2. The goal is let the new generation and others know they are supported as they make college decisions and become career ready. GenTX is a state-wide initiative to raise awareness about college and to encourage people to apply for college.

Theatre Northeast to present Rumors

Theatre Northeast will present the ?laugh-a-minute? farce†Έι³ά³Ύ΄Η°ω²υ†by Neil Simon, at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ campus, April 24, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 at 2:05 p.m.

One of Neil Simon?s most popular comedies,†Rumors†takes place in the posh suburban residence of New York?s Deputy Mayor, Charley Brock who, at the beginning of the play, is lying off-stage with a bullet hole in his earlobe.

Two ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ students win Jack Kent Cooke Scholarships

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ sophomores Stephen Milburn and Matthew Jordan learned this week that they received a Jack Kent Cooke scholarship, which will cover expenses up to $30,000 for them to transfer to a university of their choice. This video shows their reactions to getting the news!

The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Agriculture department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will host a Winter Forage Field Day on Tuesday, April 15 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. at the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Agriculture Complex (across FM 1735 from the main campus). Topics and speakers for the day will include: "Fencing for Maximum Rotation" by Gallagher Power Fence Systems; "Winter Forage Varieties for Northeast Texas" by Kenny Rollins; and "Methods and Results of ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Seed Trial" (Agriplot demo) by Chad Henry.

Freshman Kayleah Cumpian earns numerous honors

At a time when ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ sophomore Presidential Scholars have been winning unprecedented prizes, Kayleah Cumpian of the freshman class has registered an unmatched series of wins as well.

Cumpian has recently applied for and won a scholarship to attend a workshop at Duke University entitled ?Applications of Mathematics to Physiology and Medicine.?† Cumpian will be one of a select group of scholars from around the country to win this opportunity, supported by the National Science Foundation, this May 21-28.

Spring Ag Fest, which was held on Saturday, March 29, †gave guests of the ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Farm an opportunity to follow a ?treasure map? of areas of interests that could generate a wealth of sustainability on their own farm operations.

The day focused on hands-on learning experiences, which began with the raised beds where participants could plant some and take some strawberry plants.
