Twelve students from ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ presented research at the First Annual Red River Honors Symposium at Texas A&M University – Texarkana. Dr. Craig Nakashian, Director of the Academic Honors Program at TAMU-T, invited students from the various Honor societies at community colleges and universities throughout the Red River area to attend and present their research.

Following the initial launch of , Noble Research Institute is bringing the program to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Complex on August 15-16, 2023, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. This two-day immersive experience will equip ranchers with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to monitor and enhance the health of their land, livestock, and financial wellbeing.

JKC scholars from ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ

Unique among small colleges, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ can claim eleven Jack Kent Cooke scholars, all elected since 2010. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has conferred through the years, the most lucrative transfer scholarship in the United States with only forty-to-sixty awards each year. Today JKC scholarships are worth $165,000 for up to three years of study.

Do you have a strong desire to help others? Do you enjoy a fast-paced work environment? If so, a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) might be a good option for you - and there has never been a better time to get started. The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ EMS Program is part of a special initiative offering up to a full scholarship for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic and Paramedic students who qualify for entry into the program.

A combination of widespread power outages, thunderstorm damage and dangerous summer heat left thousands of Northeast Texas residents without access to basic necessities last week. Thankfully, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ was able to assist a few of them by providing a safe, cool place to stay. Thirteen families and representatives from the Texas A&M Forest Service disaster response team found a temporary home in ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s dormitories over the weekend and into this week.

This past 31 May, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s scholars could see that they had picked the right library for research on the lives of Texas’ early traveling preachers. Head of Public Services of the DeGolyer Library at Southern Methodist University, Christina Jensen, was ready for them. She had laid out diaries, memoirs, and select nineteenth-century monographs on each of the six desks where the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ scholars would perform their work.
