Frank Herbert art exhibit coming to Whatley Center gallery

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ welcomes Artist Frank Herbert as the exhibiting artist for September.  His artwork will be on display beginning Saturday, September 2nd – Thursday, September 21st.  A reception will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

Bookstore extends Friday hours, open this Saturday

The ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ Bookstore wants to make getting your textbooks as stress-free as possible! To help with this, they are offering extended hours through next week. 

They will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25th and they will also be open on Saturday, Aug. 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will extend their hours until 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1st as well. 

Regular bookstore hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until noon. They are usually closed on Saturdays.

College hosts retirement reception for Wilhite, Swann

ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ celebrated the retirement of two beloved faculty members on Thursday, Aug. 24th. Dr. Paula Wilhite (pictured right with her husband), Professor of Mathematics, and Mr. Jim Swann (pictured left with his wife), Professor of Spanish, will be greatly missed. Wilhite has taught at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ since the college opened in 1985. Swann came shortly after her in 1988.

β€’ Provide overall leadership to all Outreach Services program staff.

Neida Janet Perez becomes third James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar

In her first year at ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅, Neida Perez became a standout among standouts.  As a top-ranked Presidential Scholar, she has earned this fall one of the two most lucrative foundation scholarships granted through the college’s honors program. She will be the college’s James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar for 2023-24.

This scholarship came into being as part of a record-breaking 1.7 million-dollar gift to ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ in 2007 by the Whatley family.
