Pride Celebration held June 9th

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Pride Flock student organization hosted a Pride Celebration on June 9th in the Humanities building. The event included Pride crafts, water balloons and a featured showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The mission of Pride Flock is to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ students and allies, and to promote awareness and education of LGBTQ+ history and current issues.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ alumna wins second JKC Scholarship

Brenda Godoy, a Presidential Scholar at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ from 2016 to 2018, has just won her second $150,000 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, this one for graduate school.  The former Titus County Community Health Worker (CHW), and Mount Pleasant High School salutatorian will attend Medical School, in Fort Worth this fall.

A&M-Commerce admissions counselor coming to campus

Yadira Muñoz, Admissions Counselor for Texas A&M University-Commerce, is coming to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ on Tuesday, June 14. She will be in the Career and Transfer Center in BT 111 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Muñoz will assist students with their applications and answer questions about transferring to A&M-Commerce.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ receives ALA COVID Relief Fund grant

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ library was one of 77 libraries nationwide to be awarded an emergency relief grant from The American Library Association (ALA). The fund is providing $1.55 million in emergency relief grants to libraries that have experienced substantial economic hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic. Through the ALA COVID Library Relief Fund, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ will be awarded $20,000 to support library services and operations.
