rodeo fundraiser invitation

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Rodeo team will host its 2nd Annual Alumni Dinner and Fundraiser on Saturday, May 6th at The Pavilion Becky and Buddy McCollum Events Center on the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Grounds. The evening will start at 5:30 pm with a Social Hour. Texas Road House will be catering the event with the meal to start at 6:30pm and then a live auction and live music and dancing to follow.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ hosted Hill College in a non-conference series on April 30th and earned two wins, 4-1 and 4-2, to cap off a great Sophomore day. With this being the final home games of the 2023 season, the Eagles honored the Sophomores at the conclusion of the games.

Eight members of Alpha Mu Chi, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, attended the PTK International Convention, known as Catalyst, in Columbus, Ohio. Attendees drove through the night Wednesday April 19, to arrive for the first opening session on Thursday April 20. Jordan Chapin, as outgoing Texas Regional President, and Monse Riverro, as incoming District III Vice-President, both marched in the parade of flags, across the stage before thousands in the first General Session.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Baseball hosted the North Conference leading Navarro Bulldogs on Saturday, April 22nd and came away with a series split with Navarro winning game one 10-2 and ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ taking the win in game two, 4-3. Navarro jumped to an early lead after starter Seth Cox (Fairview, Texas) go the lead off man out but three walks led to a grand slam and a 4-0 lead for Navarro.

At a 20 April dinner, students and friends of Honors Northeast presented film patrons, Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery of Mount Vernon with a special commemorative quilt.  The quilt, created and donated by Ann Finch Goodson of Hughes Springs, and Donna Burns of Royce City, embraced colors and motifs of the most recent honors film on the Texas Suffragettes.

Weather once again played with the schedule for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Athletics. ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Softball moved the two-game series with Navarro College to Tuesday, April 25th to get ahead of the rains. The Eagles took game one 8-5 and game two 5-3 to earn the sweep against the Bulldogs.

If you are looking for something fun to do this Saturday, head to downtown Pittsburg and check out the Texas Hot Link Festival. The excitement begins at 10 a.m. and will feature a variety of food, vendors, concerts and events. The festival is commemorating the 100th birthday of Carroll Shelby with several of the day's events themed around the late racing legend.
