Restless Heart to perform at the Whatley

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ will host the chart-topping country music group Restless Heart Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature hits from the 80?s and 90?s like†Wheels, Big Dreams in a Small Town, Fast Movin? Train, I?ll Still be Loving You, The Bluest Eyes in Texas, and†Why Does It Have To Be Wrong Or Right.

Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club gives scholarship

The Mount Pleasant Fine Arts Club recently gave $500 to the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation. The funds will be used to provide a scholarship for an ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ student majoring in art, music or drama. The group has been contributing to scholarships since 1985 when the college first opened. They also presented a $25 honorarium to the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Art Department. The club made the presentation while holding their club meeting on campus in the art lab. Dr. Ron Clinton to perform solo piano concert

Dr. Ron Clinton, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Executive Vice President for Instruction, will perform a solo piano recital on Sunday, Jan. 29 at†2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.†Tickets to the concert are $15 for adults and $5 for children and ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students with a current ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students.

The concert will feature Beethoven?s Piano Sonata No. 9, Op. 14 No. 1; Chopin?s Ballade No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 52; Ravel?s Sonatine and Brahms? Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major, Op. 1.

Honors Northeast plans original film premiere

Honors Northeast, the honors program at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, will premiere an original historical film Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The production, Sam Houston and the Fate of the Texas Cherokee, is the fifth film Honors Northeast has completed in the last five years.

Foundation accepting applications for transfer scholarship

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation is now accepting applications for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship fund provides five awards of $1,000 each for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students transferring to a four-year university. Those†who meet the criteria below should plan to apply by April 14 in order to be considered for this scholarship:
