Fine Arts Club of Mount Pleasant gives scholarship

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Foundation recently received a $500 gift to benefit a student majoring in fine arts. This scholarship, contributed by the Fine Arts Club of Mount Pleasant, is one of the longest running scholarships at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ (established 1985). CIS engages Chapel Hill Juniors, Seniors during STARR testing

Recent STARR testing for Freshmen and Sophomores caused Junior and Seniors at Chapel Hill to be displaced.††Kristin French, Comunities in Schools coordinator at Chapel Hill Junior High and High School planned three days of activities for Juniors and Seniors.

The theme of the activities for juniors was getting ready for senior year. Mrs. Cristy Nolen, Family and Consumer Science teacher said, "Senior Camp" and that name stuck!††We wanted to get LOTS of work done, but have fun at the same time.

Wilson receives J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship

Bryan Wilson (center)†of Mount Vernon, was recently†presented with the J. Travis Jackson Memorial Scholarship during the 2013 GED graduation ceremony.†This $500 award is given by the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club in memory of Jackson, who was a long time adult educator in Titus County.†Making the presentation is Amy Hinton (right), President of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club and Amy House (left), GED Instructor.

GED graduates inducted into National Adult Education Honor Society

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Medical Assistant graduates achieve 100% pass rate on national exam

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Medical Assistant program recently announced that 100% of its second year students passed the National Certification Exam offered through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). These students, who graduated in May, are now eligible to be employed as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) anywhere in the United States.

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ holds spring 2013 commencement

ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ held its spring 2013 commencement at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 11. Due to the record number of graduates, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ held two separate ceremonies for the first time. Candidates for Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees were honored with commencement at 9 a.m. Graduation for candidates of Associate of Applied Science degrees and Certificates of Competencies graduated at 11 a.m. A total of†178 students were awarded associate degrees and 115 earned certificates of competency in their chosen fields.
