Registration delays due to software conversion
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ is gearing up for the fall semester, which begins Monday, Aug. 24. Due to issues stemming from a recent student information software conversion, online registration is currently unavailable and students will find wait times to be longer than usual.
"When a college replaces its administrative software systems, there are always challenges. Our staff is doing everything they can to ensure that each student is taken care of," Dr. Brad Johnson, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ President, said. "Unfortunately, the process will take longer than usual this semester.
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ offers Saturday registration Aug. 22
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 22 to assist students with finalizing registration for the Fall 2015 semester. Students who have already begun the registration process will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, make payments and receive help with financial aid.
Hanson-Sewell Center offers fall classes
The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg would like to remind residents of Camp County and surrounding areas that a full slate of courses will be offered at the center this fall.
The majority of classes offered at the Hanson-Sewell Center are held in the evening in order to allow working adults a chance to take courses that fit their busy schedules. Fall classes begin Monday, August 24, but it is not too late to register.
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ to offer free GED, ESL classes
The Adult Education Department at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ (ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ) will offer free General Education Development (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations beginning this month. There were no cartoons,†cereal and air conditioning for 25 area 4-H and FFA youth who chose instead to get up early on and come out to participate in the Northeast Texas Goat Raiser?s Association Goat†Clinic held at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Ag Complex last Saturday.
ITTC to add CNC Operator certificate
ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ announced on Thursday an important expansion of its training opportunities at the Industrial Technology Training Center in Mount Pleasant.†Thanks to a partnership with the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation and Workforce Solutions Northeast, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ will soon offer a certificate program in Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) Operator at the ITTC.
Honors Northeast seeks submissions for poetry contest
The eighth annual Northeast Texas Poetry Contest and Reading is again open to the public.†Amateur, accomplished or aspiring poets of any age are welcome to submit their best poem on the topic of life in Northeast Texas.†Poets are encouraged to accent or enliven the sense of the surroundings, the people, the culture or the history of our region.†The deadline date for submission is August 28 at noon. Cypress Bank-Lone Star supports Honors Northeast
Cypress Bank-Lone Star recently presented a high-end laptop for the use of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Honors students. This year?s recipient, Cruz Gallegos (pictured center), was the 2015 Valedictorian at Daingerfield High School. ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ ads orientation date
Due to increased demand, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ will add an additional date for new students to attend myEagle Orientation. Any first-time student who has not yet attended orientation and plans to take classes at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ this fall should make plans to sign up for this final session on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The event begins in the Student Union Building (SUB) at 8 a.m. and will last until approximately†1:30†p.m.
