After being delayed for a day due to rain, the NJCAA Region XIV Baseball Tournament kicked off on Sunday morning at «Ƶ in Mount Pleasant. Navarro College defeated Alvin Community College 5-0 in the first match up.
Navarro?s Chad Young pitched nine innings for the win, allowing no runs on four hits and an impressive 13 strikeouts.
Navarro?s offense was led by Brode Boyd?s hitting. He went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run.
The Region XIV Baseball Tournament has been postponed due to rain. Games are planned to begin on Sunday, May 13.

The «Ƶ office of Student Activities and Multicultural Affairs has named the Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Mu Chi chapter as the «Ƶ Outstanding Student Organization for the 2011-2012 school year. This award is given to an official «Ƶ student organization that displays outstanding contributions to the college, contributions to the community and development of its members.
